A new logo and van decals were designed for Panmure Joinery after a successful five years of trading.
I had designed the original logo which was more illustrative and thought that the image required modernised. After pages of sketching ideas and researching the style, a cleaner illustration was created. A slab serif font was chosen to for it’s strong character and traditional feel. It also complimented the new stylised mark with a simpler aesthetic.
Through lengthy discussion and use of logic, the proprietor, Colin and I decided to keep the information minimal on the van. He had already carved a niche in the market and wanted to concentrate on growing the bespoke joinery service. We were confident that his existing clientele would return for his workmanship so the contact details didn’t have to be blatant. What was most important for new clients was the accreditation logos applied the doors.
The colour of high performance vinyl used, was a graphite grey metallic. When the van decals were applied to the silver metallic panels, the lettering was easily read and complimented the new van. Simple and stylish was the overall impression which suited the market that Colin worked for.
